Sunshine Sunday!

For this week, Sunshine's stamps challenged the DT to create a project with the same image as last week, but use paper piecing. I have to admit that I panicked, as I have only paper pieced once before, however I made the image bigger (the lovely thing about digi stamps) and decided to paper piece the ornaments and the holly leaves, but color the rest. I am quite pleased with how it all turned out in the end! It's hard to tell, but the pink and green papers that I used do have a swirled pattern in them, but it ended up being quite subtle, so I think if I try this technique again, I'll go with more obvious pattern in my papers. I also inked the sentiment with Close To My Heart Baby Pink.

Sweet Pea Ornament

I found this wonderful stamp company called Sweet Pea Stamps and they make the most beautiful rubber stamps, very good quality and super reasonable prices. I decided to make an ornament, because I really liked the tutorial Deanne had up on her blog a while back and I wanted to give it a try. I coloured her with Copics and I painted the background with Shimmerz in the Blueberry Cobbler colour. I also used pearls from Basic Grey in the Aqua shades. I also entered this in this weeks Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential and Inky Impressions challenges to make an ornament. This is also my entry for the Inky Impressions DT Call. They have the cutest stamps and I'd love a chance to be on the team!

Sunshine Sinday!

This weekend I had a lot of fun playing over at SCS for their Virtual Stamp Night. There were 14 challenges in total and so far I managed to finish 9 of them :) This is one of my favorites and I used one of Sunshine's Stamps Christmas sentiments for it. I was supposed to make a Baroque style card using White, Cream, Gold and Black, a Border punch (I used a Bordabilities), ribbon and pearls.

On another note, today is the switch over day for Ildi Co's DT! The term 2 team is taking over so be sure to check my right sidebar for a list of the new teams blogs to check out :)

NOTE: A lot of people were asking about the die cut I used, so I thought I'd post it. I used the Nestabilities Labels 7

I made this card for one of the challenges over at Virtual Stamp Night on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge was to CASE a card, change 2 things about it and then add ruffled ribbon and other embellishments. I choose to CASE THIS gorgeous card and I also am entering it into the PMS Sketch challenge for this week. This cute image is from Paper Makeup Stamps.

My Digital Delights Guest Spot!

I was so excited to be chosen as the guest designer for Digital Delights this week as I adore their images! They are so darn cute. They have lots of digital images and have just recently teamed up with Clear Dollar Stamps to bring you some clear stamps too!! For my first project I used "Maggie" and I pieced her unto the "Maggie Background". I coloured her with Copics and I sponged the sky and the grass with Close to My Heart inks (Heavenly Blue and Topiary). I then added some flowers that I found from an Etsy store with Kaiser flowers behind them. I also used a dew drop for the top corners.

Materials:
Copics R81,R20,E11,E00,E000,Y13,Y000,Y0000,C3,C1,C00,R29,R27,R24,BV11,BV00,BV0000,
B0000, E35, YR23, Y23
CTMH Heavenly Blue and Topiary Inks
Dew Drops
Kaiser Flowers
Etsy Flowers

For my 2nd project I decided to attempt to make a paper backpack, I found the tutorial HERE on Splitcoast Stampers. To make this I used Digital Delights "Alien Andy in Spaceship" image, which I coloured with Copics and added some Basic Grey pearls to his ship. I used Gina K Navy CS for the main part of the backpack and I used the SU! Stars wheel to make the pattern, which I then embossed with silver.

Materials:
Copics C3, B99, G24, B000
Eyelets
Ribbon
Silver Embossing powder

Spread the Love for Jaimie Hop

If you've come here from Elaine's Quixotic blog then you're on the right track. If not you can start at the beginning with Katharina Frei. This is the card I made for Jaimie to help send her some love and hope. The more people the send her cards the more hope she'll recieve. We're hoping that as many people as possible will contribute and there are even several vendors donating prizes to encourage participation. For all the details on how you can help Spread The Love for Jaimie, an 11 year old girl who was a victim of a horrendous act of violence that left her without a mother, or to know more about her story please go HERE.

For the card I decided to make for her I used one of the adorable images from the Little Loud Stamps new release over at PaperWorks. To make the gold borders I used scor-tape and sprinkled glitter over top.

Materials:
Copics C9,C7,C5,C3, E11,E00,E000,R20,B91,B93,B95,BV00,BV11,BV17
Stickles
Brads
Flowers
Gold Glitter
Scor-tape

Now hop on over Boni's blog for more love for Jaimie. And please help flood this girl with cards!!

Copics: B26,B24,B21,B000,Y08,YR07,R24
Silver Embossing Powder
Nesties
