Day 2 of My Debut & BLOG CANDY!!

This is now closed ... I'll post a winner shortly...

Here we are on day 2 of my big debut! I wanted to do something other then a card for this post so I decided to make a luminaria, which is a little light box for one of those flameless tealights. I don’t actually have one of those tealights, so I cheated and put a light behind the box, but you get the idea. When I saw these darling little snow angels from Little Loud Stamps “Christmas Freckles Collection”, I knew they would make a perfect addition to the luminaria, so I coloured them and cut them out and adhered them to the box.

I embellished the box with stickles and snowflakes and the images were coloured with Copic markers.
Materials:
Cardstock – Navy & White , Vellum – Light Blue
Spellbinders – Nestabilities Ovals and Shapeabilities Create-A-Flake
Stamp – The Snow Angel Duo
Stickles – Crystal
Copics: (Skin) R20, E11, E00, E000 (Hair) E29, E25,E31 (Jacob’s Clothing) Y21,Y11, B95,B93,B91 (Charlotte’s Clothing) RV34,RV32,BG13,BG10

My Circle Journal

I recently joined a swap where we alter a journal, write something about ourselves in it and then mail it to the next person who writes a little something in it and so on. The idea is to mail the journals around 3 times and get to know everyone in your group through our journals. The idea sounded so neat to me, that I just had to try it out. The image I used is a Bildmalarna Stamp called "Mimosa's Book".

Sunshine Sunday!

Here's my Sunshine posting for this week, this is the last time I'll be posting on Sunday as after we take a little break for Christmas, my day has been switched to Saturday, so keep an eye out for that!

Sunshine wanted us to make a snowglobe for this week so, I decided to make mine a little one and make it into a Christmas ornament. I coloured with copics and I added stickles and raindrops. This was a quick and easy project to make to stop by Sunshines Stamps and make some last minute Christmas decorations :)

Exciting News!!

Today is the big day! I have been holding this in for over a month, but now I get to spill, I made the PaperWorks Design Team. I have been a huge fan for a while now, so you can image the happy dance I did when I got picked!

For my first post, I decided to play with a couple of the adorable Jungle Jesters “Mikey the Monkey” and “Sammy the Snake”. I gave this card a patch-quilt look with Sammy and Mikey as the focus. I paper pieced the patches and layered them with cardstock and designer paper. I also sewed along the edges and paper pieces to add to the quilt effect. After sewing the card front I mounted it on the card base and added the flower and gems. I love the look of sewing on cards and it’s a technique I’d really love to incorporate more often! I used Copics to colour these cuties and all the supplies I used for this card can be found at the PaperWorks store.

Card Details:
Copics used: (Sammy) YG17,YG11,YG05, R27, R22, Y08 (Mikey) E21,E18,E17, E13, E00
Prima – Belle Fleur, Bling Fling – Amber, JilliBean Soup Designer Paper

I think I barely made it on time to enter the Flourishes release challenge. We had to make a card that reflects what we like to see in our gardens. I love Petunias because they are availble in so many beautiful colours. Also I like to fill my garden with lots of pinks and purples.

Split Butterfly

Here's my 1st attempt at the Split Negative technique which was the Crafty Critter challenge for this round. I didn't get the butterfly centered, but I'm still happy with how this turned out. The ink I used was CTMH Vanilla and Lilac Mist and then I embellished with flowers and ribbon. I'm hoping to try this again sometime, it was a fun one to make!

Sunshine Sunday

Here's my latest Sunshine's Stamps post. I used another of their Christmas Images and Sentiment, be sure to check out their store for a whole selection of Holiday digital stamps. I also used the Sketch from Midnight Madness this week which Sunshine Stamps happens to be hosting so if you want a chance to win some of their images for yourself go check it out! And the colours were from one of the GinaK release challenges over on SCS.

A Christmas Wish Hop

If you came here from Crystal M's blog then you're on the right track, otherwise you can start at the beginning HERE.

Here's my card for the Christmas Wish Hop hosted by Michelle Perkett. This beautiful Angel is one of her designs and it's called "The Wishing Star Christmas Angel" This beautiful image can be found at her Etsy Store HERE. She asked all who participated to use this image and make a wish for someone other then ourselves.

To make this card I coloured her with Copic markers and accented all the stars with Stickles. I used a Nesties to cut out a frame from the white cardstock which was embossed by my friend Kristina who was nice enough to send me some. I then inked the edges of the frame with CTMH Sunshine Yellow ink and CTMH Outdoor Denim ink was sponged on for the sky. The gold and blue glitter borders were made with score-tape and glitter.

Now for my wish/prayer. I want to pray for all those little children belonging to our friends in the stamping community that are suffering from various illnesses, including cancer. I wish that they will recover and their families will be able to spend time with them for many more years to come! Nothing breaks my heart more then hearing about children suffering. And I'd also like to wish everyone a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

Challenges entered:
Stamp Something: Glitzy Somethings

Digital Tuesday Challenges: Christmas Sparkle

Now head on over to your next stop in the hop which is Deanne

Gingerbread Farmer

I whipped up this simple card with one of Ildi Co's new gingerbread images. This one is called Gingerbread Farmer. Isn't he a cutie? When I first got these images I knew I had to play with this one. Anyway, I used black and bright colours which is this weeks Ildi Co challenge. I also used this weeks sketch from PaperWorks. I coloured him with Copics and inked the edges with CTMH Sunshine yellow. The flowers are Kaiser flowers.

Sunshine Sunday!

For this week, Sunshine's stamps challenged the DT to create a project with the same image as last week, but use paper piecing. I have to admit that I panicked, as I have only paper pieced once before, however I made the image bigger (the lovely thing about digi stamps) and decided to paper piece the ornaments and the holly leaves, but color the rest. I am quite pleased with how it all turned out in the end! It's hard to tell, but the pink and green papers that I used do have a swirled pattern in them, but it ended up being quite subtle, so I think if I try this technique again, I'll go with more obvious pattern in my papers. I also inked the sentiment with Close To My Heart Baby Pink.

Sweet Pea Ornament

I found this wonderful stamp company called Sweet Pea Stamps and they make the most beautiful rubber stamps, very good quality and super reasonable prices. I decided to make an ornament, because I really liked the tutorial Deanne had up on her blog a while back and I wanted to give it a try. I coloured her with Copics and I painted the background with Shimmerz in the Blueberry Cobbler colour. I also used pearls from Basic Grey in the Aqua shades. I also entered this in this weeks Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential and Inky Impressions challenges to make an ornament. This is also my entry for the Inky Impressions DT Call. They have the cutest stamps and I'd love a chance to be on the team!

Sunshine Sinday!

This weekend I had a lot of fun playing over at SCS for their Virtual Stamp Night. There were 14 challenges in total and so far I managed to finish 9 of them :) This is one of my favorites and I used one of Sunshine's Stamps Christmas sentiments for it. I was supposed to make a Baroque style card using White, Cream, Gold and Black, a Border punch (I used a Bordabilities), ribbon and pearls.

On another note, today is the switch over day for Ildi Co's DT! The term 2 team is taking over so be sure to check my right sidebar for a list of the new teams blogs to check out :)

NOTE: A lot of people were asking about the die cut I used, so I thought I'd post it. I used the Nestabilities Labels 7

Holly Christmas

I made this card for one of the challenges over at Virtual Stamp Night on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge was to CASE a card, change 2 things about it and then add ruffled ribbon and other embellishments. I choose to CASE THIS gorgeous card and I also am entering it into the PMS Sketch challenge for this week. This cute image is from Paper Makeup Stamps.
